PUTRAJAYA: The government will take strict action against the sale of prohibited products online, including vape liquids laced with drugs and sold via social media.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said a meeting with the Minister of Health and the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) would be held in the near future to discuss enforcement mechanisms.
"Minister of KPDN, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali; Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad and I will hold a meeting in the near future.
"It is to discuss the implementation of enforcement against prohibited products, including the sale of liquids believed to contain drugs, which are sold through applications or social media platforms as well as online," he said.
He said this at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting here today.
Fahmi stressed that the results of the discussion would be brought to the Cabinet for further decisions, including action against sellers and platforms that allow the sale of the products involved.
He explained that the discussion reflected the government's concern over the increasingly worrying social threats in society.
