PETALING JAYA: It is results day for some 413,200 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2025 candidates β including the daughter of Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek β as they can collect their result slips on Tuesday (March 31).
This cohort is the first group of Form Five students to sit for the SPM without having taken the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) or the Pentaksiran Tingkatan 3 (PT3). UPSR was cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequently abolished in 2021, while PT3 was cancelled in 2021 and abolished in 2022.
Candidates can collect their result slips from their respective schools from 10am, while private candidates may contact the state education departments where they registered for the examinations.
Results are also available online at myresultspm.moe.gov.my and via SMS by typing SPM (space) MyKad number (space) index number and sending it to 15888.
Ahead of the release, the overall performance analysis will be presented an hour earlier by Education Ministry director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad.
The SPM 2025 examinations, held from November to December last year, marked a return to the original SPM schedule after several years of delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The examination season was not without its challenges, as parts of the country were hit by floods.
Despite the disruptions, the Education Ministry ensured that examinations proceeded nationwide, with contingency measures in place to safeguard candidatesβ safety and minimise the impact.
The examination period also saw concerns raised over alleged leaks of SPM questions being sold online.
The issue was reviewed by the Malaysian Examinations Council, with Mohd Azam assuring that established procedures were in place to address such matters and that the situation was under control.
A total of 413,299 candidates sat for SPM 2025 at 3,350 examination centres nationwide.
Prior to the written examinations held from Nov 25 to Dec 23, SPM 2025 began on Nov 3β6 with Bahasa Melayu speaking tests, followed by English speaking tests on Nov 10β13, science practicals on Nov 17β19, and listening tests on Nov 20.
